In some respects, a curtain side trailer is the best of both worlds—a covered cargo area when such protection from the elements is desired and the “walls” can get out of the way for a flatbed profile for all around loading and unloading.
Of course the main drawback of a curtain side system is because of its versatility—the curtains are relatively easy to damage and theyfrequently require repair or replacement. As with virtually every other thing on your trailer, repairs to curtain side trailers are more cost effective than is a replacement of the curtains.

- All curtain side trailers use PVC based material. We will determine what the fabric weight of the torn curtain is and what color it is so that we can “weld” in a patch that matches the original as closely as possible.
- We will thoroughly clean and prep the edges of the tear in your curtain, and clean the patch so that you will get the best bond possible.
- The torn area will be placed upon a clean flat and hard surface. The patch will be applied from the inside of the curtain. We will make every effort to ensure the patch is as “invisible” as can be
- Usingheat to soften the PVC, and wide rollers to ensure nothing peels up while we work, we mate the patch and the curtain and bond them into what should appear to be a seamless repair.
As you can imagine, successfully repairing a curtain side trailer so that it doesn’t look like it has been patched is a combination of decent shop space, access to specialty tools, and repair experience that is difficult for the do-it-yourselfer to duplicate.
